Watch your journey grow

Journey is a free fitness photo journal for iPhone. Matching-angle comparisons, private lift and bodyweight records, and a tree that grows as you keep showing up.

  • Starts private
  • No ads or trackers

Journey is in testing. Places in the beta are limited and the build changes often.

Inside the app

Four screens do most of the work. Everything on them stays on your account unless you decide to publish it.

Set your starting point

Record the tests you actually do — squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press, bodyweight, push-ups, pull-ups, plank and a timed 2 km run. Leave the rest blank.

Your baseline is the number everything else is measured against, and it stays private to you.

  • Recorded singles, never an estimate from a set of ten
  • Leave out any test that isn't part of your training
  • The snapshot never leaves your account
The baseline screen listing squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press, bodyweight, push-ups, pull-ups, plank and a 2 km run with entry fields.

Re-test when you're ready

Baseline, previous and current sit in one table, so a re-test reads as change rather than a number on its own.

Set your own re-test cycle, keep the full history, export it, or delete a snapshot for good.

  • Re-test on your own schedule, not a fixed 12-week block
  • Missing results stay empty instead of counting as a drop
  • A bodyweight change is shown as a change, not a win or a loss
A progress table comparing baseline, previous and current results for each recorded test.

Weigh in at your own rhythm

Log daily, weekly or whenever you remember. The chart spaces entries by their real dates instead of pretending you weighed in every day.

Weekly and monthly averages, kg or lb, and a curve that doesn't overshoot.

  • 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 1 year or everything
  • Averages only count the days you actually recorded
  • One entry per date, replaced if you weigh in again

Same angle, new chapter

Front, back and both sides, two dates at a time. Compare side by side or drag the reveal across, then zoom and adjust the framing until the two line up.

Export the comparison exactly as you framed it. Photos stay private unless you publish one yourself.

  • Front, back, left side and right side
  • Side by side, or drag the reveal across
  • Your originals are never cropped, filtered or recoloured

Your tree keeps the score

Every account starts as a seedling. Growth is earned by what you record, and the tree moves through eight stages as it adds up — a picture of your consistency, not a score on your body.

Day one

One shoot, thin roots, and a lot of mountain ahead of it.

Taking hold

Training days and check-ins add up, and the trunk starts to hold its own.

Established

Streaks, recorded PRs and milestones fill the canopy out.

  • Training days — logged sessions
  • Photo check-ins — dated, private by default
  • Streaks — consecutive days you show up
  • Recorded PRs — a new best on a main lift
  • Milestones — workout counts along the way
  • Eligible referrals — someone you brought in who stays

Growth has no cash value and is not a health assessment. Breaks and deleted entries never wipe what you've already earned.

Share the part you want to share

The journal is private. Community is a separate, deliberate step: you publish a photo when you want to, and you can make it private again afterwards.

The community feed with posts from members, hashtags, likes and comments.
A feed of people who chose to post. Likes and comments are encouragement — report or block anything that isn't, and moderators review it.
A leaderboard of self-recorded lifting totals with global, country and following views.
Optional rankings for your recorded singles: global, your country, or only the people you follow. Self-reported lifts, not verified competition results.

Bring someone with you

Your invitation card carries your custom code, your Growth total and your stage — never your private records.

Referrals that stick add Growth to your tree as well as theirs.

  • Pick your own code instead of a string of letters
  • Your login email is never used as the public code

Make it yours

System, Light or Dark — Journey follows your phone unless you tell it otherwise. Weight in kg or lb, distance in km or mi, and a display name and username you can change whenever you like.

Private by default

Progress photos are personal. Journey is built so that sharing is always something you did on purpose.

  • Your journal starts private Photos, bodyweight, lifts and baselines are yours until you publish something.
  • Publishing happens one post at a time There is no bulk share, and a post can go back to private without losing its photos or comments.
  • Leaderboards are opt-in You choose whether you appear, which results are shown, and whether to show a country.
  • Photos are re-encoded and stripped Uploads are resized and their metadata removed before they are stored.
  • Export or delete, whenever you want Settings has a full JSON export and account deletion that removes your photos and records.
  • Nothing to buy, nothing sold No ads, no analytics trackers, no paid tiers and no coaching upsell.

The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Questions

What does Journey cost?

Nothing. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no paid tier.

Is it on the App Store?

Not yet. Journey is in testing, so TestFlight is the only way in at the moment. Join the list above and you'll hear the day that changes.

Who can see my photos?

Nobody, unless you publish one. Photo check-ins, bodyweight, lifts and baseline snapshots are private to your account, and publishing is a choice you make post by post.

What is Growth?

A running total of the activity you record — training days, check-ins, streaks, recorded PRs, milestones and eligible referrals. It moves your Tree of Life through its eight stages, and that's all it does.

Are the leaderboards verified?

No. They rank results members entered themselves, with no video review, weight classes or divisions. Treat them as friendly competition rather than a record book.

Can I get my data out?

Yes. Settings exports your records as JSON and deletes your account along with its photos and personal records.

I bought Journey: Body Transformation — is this the same app?

No. That's the earlier paid app and it still works as it always has. This Journey is a separate, free app with a photo journal, Tree of Life and community. For help with the paid app, email contact@journeywithshannon.com.
